I started my wedding planning business in 2008 with less than $1000 and zero experience with weddings. I DIY’d my business website and printed the first set of business cards on my clunky inkjet printer. I will never forget nervously walking into my first wedding networking meeting (10 minutes late) and having to walk in front of the entire room of seated guests to find a seat. I still shutter at how awkward I felt that day.

Within 5 years, my humble start turned into a six figure revenue event planning business. Our weddings were published in more than 30 magazines and on more than 20 wedding blogs and websites. I was featured regularly on local television stations as the entertaining expert.

FAST FORWARD TO WHY I STARTED LASTING IMPRESSIONS BY DESIGN…

When I started my planning business, I was desperate to find any and all information on how to be a wedding planner. This was before social media (gasp!) and there was not much information online about how to get started. After planning more than 100+ events, attending many educational conferences, reading more than 40 business books, working with a business coach, and having met many of my business goals, I craved an online community and resource to connect with other planners and to share my hard-earned knowledge. I had been coaching local wedding planners on the side for a few years and thrived on helping others start and grow their planning business.

After much research and learning about online business, I launched Lasting Impressions by Design in 2013 as a resource site and community for wedding and event planners to relax, talk, learn, and inspire. Lasting Impressions by Design empowers wedding and event planners with the tools and resources to succeed including 1:1 coaching, online courses, ready-to-use templates, business resources, and comprehensive educational guides. In 2017, I sold my planning business and the studio to focus on Lasting Impressions by Design.

I feel incredibly lucky every single day that I have the opportunity to help event planners (YOU!) start, grow, and create their own success in our industry. I’m thrilled that I can give back to the industry that has given me so much.

Knowing that I played a tiny part in the success of others fills my heart with joy and energizes my soul.

Outside of work, I am mom to my awesome teenage daughter and dog mom to my sweet chocolate lab. Flowers bring me joy and Starbucks makes my day. Snow falling feels magical but fall is my favorite time of year. I have a huge soft spot in my heart for animals. I have an obsession with paper crafts, cute office supplies, the Bachelor. NY is my favorite place on earth and I am thankful every day that I get to live here.
